Many of us have paddled and enjoyed the Buffalo River. Here is a chance to give back! Team Green Adventures is organizing a volunteer river clean up on Saturday, August 21st. We will be picking up garbage starting at Crazy Horse Canoes and ending approximately ten miles downstream. If you would like to pitch in you have two options:
1. Bring your own kayak and arrive early so that we can shuttle cars to the take out. There might be room on the complimentary (that means free) shuttle bus however space is limited and we will not know about availability until the day of the event. If you must pay for a shuttle the fee is $20, thus I strongly suggest shuttling our own cars.
2. Rent a canoe through Team Green: Team Green Event Page. The cost per canoe is $30 per boat, $15 per person and includes paddles and PDF. If you do not have a partner Team Green will pair individuals up with other canoers.
If you plan to caravan or carpool then meet at the Home Depot in Bellevue (7665 Highway 70 South, 37221) at 6:30AM. Expect the drive to take approximately 2 hours and 15 minutes. If you do not want to caravan or carpool, you must be at the launch site no later than 8AM so that we will have time to unload kayaks and shuttle cars to the take-out. NOTE: Dan will meet everyone at the launch site, NOT at Home Depot, at 8AM (not 8:10 or 8:15) SHARP! We will shuttle cars to the take-out and hit the water at 9AM.

CAMPING: If you would like to camp, you are welcome to contact Crazy Horse Canoe for information on their river side camping. Tell them you are with Team Green.
WHAT TO BRING: Bring lunch, water, and snacks as well as sun block. Alcohol is permitted (YAY!). Team Green will supply trash bags and gloves and will give prizes to those collecting the most trash. (Don't try to cheat by bringing your own garbage, I am on to you!) You are welcome to bring your own gloves, hand sanitizer, camera, and anything else you believe will be necessary.
CHILDREN AND DOGS: This trip is an age 12+ event. Well behaved dogs are welcome. We recommend bringing a life vest for your pooch just in case.
REMEMBER: As we will be picking up trash this paddle will take the better part of the day. Add at least a couple of hours onto the typical 10 mile paddle time.
