There were a lot of locals doing this trail without breaking a sweat; they didn't carry water and wore just everyday workout clothes as they speed-walked to the top and came right back down. I, however, had a bit more of a difficult time. The ascent was rough and I was a bit slow-going but the trail is wide enough that I didn't have to worry about blocking anyone's path. Once we reached the outlook, the view was well worth the trek. It was so beautiful and it was so awesome seeing LA from a different perspective. Overall it took us 1hr 45mins to complete. Highly recommend this!

Beautiful hike! It's a bit of an uphill hike. There is a nice breeze and the views are gorgeous. No dogs are allowed.

Pretty view of the ocean at the top. It's just a fire road hike.

This is the only option for Large groups as the fire road is wide enough for a bigger crowd. Los Liones is good for individuals and at the most groups of 4 because the pathway is very narrow, (easy to pass much slower folks) majority of the people come to workout as it's quite strenuous and mystical. ✌

Parking is the only downside to this moderately difficult, steep trail with gorgeous 360 views. You may have to park further down from the trail and hike up - watch for cars.

It's hard to know where exactly the trail ends, as there are no signs once you pass the trailhead. Never fear, the path is well defined and the other hikers are friendly :)

Head down to the beach afterward to cool off and relax!

Beautiful views! It was overcast/cloudy but the hike was still worth it. The parking situation sucked - you have to really hunt for a place to park in this residential neighborhood.

Dont like the parking options at this trailhead and prefer the ample parking available at the Los Liones Trailhead. Starting from here makes the hike shorter and easier, but I think you miss the best part of the hike on the single track from Los Liones.

Did this trail the other day on a foggy by the ocean day and it was spectacular and clear by the time we got to the lookout. We were able to see Mt. WIlson, Downtown LA, Century City, the Santa Moncia coast to Palos Verdes, Catalina Island (and the island beyond Catalina) There isn't much shade but there's a nice ocean breeze from time to time. Saw quite a few hikers coming and going.

This is the Friday night hike of the local Sierra Club. Great incline with ridge trails for a greater workout. The hike looks different every time you are in it due to the proximity to the ocean mixed with panoramic views of the LA skyline. I've seen rattlesnakes and lizards on this trail. So beware in the late afternoon. But they are very easy to spot. Also have seen quail, glow worms and stink bugs.

Pretty good elevation. Beautiful views of the ocean, hills and the city. Last Friday I spotted an owl. I've hiked these hills often for the last 2 years. It was a first time I saw an owl. Dear is very common and watch out for the snakes, as anywhere in Southern Cali - Pacific Rattle snakes are common here.
Please don't leave the trace.

Bring your sandwich, but leave nothing behind. Enjoy!
