Pothole Dome is a 1 mile out and back trail located near Long Barn, California and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is accessible from June until August.
Great view of Tuolumne Meadows from the west end (is also a Yosemite shuttle stop about 1.5 miles west of the Tuolumne Meadows Info Center)... from the small parking lot, hike around the meadow to the left (because the meadow is frequently soaked, esp in the late spring), and walk from the left along the base of the dome until you feel comfortable walking right up the dome... the farther right you go, the easier it is to step up; is a very easy hike with great views from the flat top... and the potholes fill with water when it rains; plus has some bubbles (deposited by the glaciers) on the top of the dome. Great view of the meadows and you can wander over the top and down the other side to extend the hike. Worth the short trip.
