| Too many people with sour faces and sleeve tattoos. If you're looking for a quick outdoor break it's okay, but not really "great outdoors" material. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| Runyon Canyon is one of my least favorite hiking spots due to the fact that it is extremely crowded with people who appear to have never walked on dirt before, there are piles of canine feces everywhere and parking is an issue. There are so many other better trails in the area that are far more worth it than Runyon. On the plus side though, people claim that this is a place to have celebrity sightings. I've never seen any, but I'm also not into that and probably wouldn't realize it if it did happen to me. So there is a plus to it :) | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| Clean trail. Lot of people and dogs on the trail. Good place to hike with your dog. Only bad thing is that it's hard to find street parking. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| If you live in the Hollywood area, Runyon is a great place to get some decent exercise (screw gyms). If you're a tourist you'll get great views of the LA- on a clear day you can see all the way from downtown to the ocean! There are lots of four-legged furry friends, if you like dogs (and luckily their humans pick up after them). In fact, there are so many different specialized breeds on the trails it's practically a doggie zoo. Once I came across a dwarf French bulldog whose head took up half of his body. So cute. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| I was introduced to Runyon about two years ago after my graduation from the LA Film School, when I finally had time to explore my new city. Honesty, at first I was put off. The main trail feels like an out door Hollywood show in tell in which all the men and woman run shirtless, with the latest gadgets, newest miniature dog and stage appropriate make up. All the components to make a newbie cower in intimidation. And who wants that when hiking? You hike to feel good, to better yourself, and enjoy the outdoors. You can do that when your head is hung in unnecessary shame. I didn't go back until about a year ago when a good friend convinced me she could show me "the real Runyon". And she did. Unbeknown to me upon my first visit, there are many more trails than you may think at first glance. Trails that are actual dirt, where you can enjoy the company of lizards, birds and on occasion, snakes.Trails that work your body just right and take you to heights with the best view of the city, hands down. You can gaze from the Santa Monica beach all the way pass downtown. The trail is never without a nice genital breeze that is much appreciated on those extremely hot summer days. And the feel from others it that of being on a boat in a lake; everyone bids you hello with a friendly smile and a full clothed body(most the time). Dogs, while not on a leash, tend to let you be or greet you with a quick sniff and are off again to explore the surroundings. And you never have to fear missing an important call, like from that hottie you met last night or that job you interviewed for the other day; because Runyon is smack dab in the middle of Hollywood which equals: FULL CELL SERVICE. So, I leave you with this. Go. Explore. I promise you'll love it. And if the main trail is your type of place, you'll be in heaven; may even see a celebrity or two. If the main trail isn't your scene, don't worry, you'll find a trail that's prefect for you. Just give it a visit or two. , | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| I'm not a professional hiker by any means, but Runyon Canyon is one of my favorite spots in L.A. I love to venture up there weekly, with only my iPod in tow. I hike to the perfect spot and then run all the way down. It's an awesome workout, with the most amazing view. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| Great trail and just minutes from downtown. Lots of great views, small roads, big roads and you'll run into a celeb or two. | |||||||||||||||||||||||

| If you're visiting LA, new to LA, or are just looking for a trail close to the city - Runyon is it. The trail provides amazing panoramic views of downtown LA without much effort. It is a little bit of a workout to get up the hill but after that the trail flattens out and gradually slopes downhill which makes it very enjoyable. Runyon is definitely worth checking out! | |||||||||||||||||||||||
