Good, quick and easy trail with great views at the top. The whole hike, up and down, only took about an hour.Shawn Lefebre1 month ago1 Completed1 ReviewsPeter Jacinto1 month ago1 Completed1 ReviewsAmazing 360 degree view. I saw lots of families enjoying this hike.Stephen Morgan3 months ago1 Completed1 ReviewsOur hike was on February 12, 2016. This was a bit more strenuous than we expected. But that was mostly due to the fact that we had to hike the two miles up Hurricane Mountain Road, which was closed for the season and covered with several inches of fresh snow.As you might imagine, we encountered a few snowmobile riders on the trail. So be mindful in the winter that the trails are shared with other outdoor enthusiasts. And keep your ears open. It was a cold but clear day. So we enjoyed a beautiful hike along the Black Cap trail, which had a firm snow pack due to the snowmobile riders who appear to have made several runs that day. It took us nearly two hours for our ascent starting at the gate on Hurricane Mountain Road up to the top. Where we took a few minutes to enjoy the views and reward ourselves with a quick snack of trail mix. The return trip was a breeze. Taking just one hour for the 3+ miles. Be careful of the icy stretches especially on the way down along the steep tracks. Overall a great hike. We're looking forward to trying the other trails, preferably during foliage season in the Fall.Matt Renick5 months ago1 Completed1 ReviewsLots of fun! Great views at the top. Gate was closed so needed to walk two miles up the road before starting, but still finished the whole thing in about 3 hours. Moderate, need good shoes.Ed Kenney5 months ago3 Completed3 ReviewsGreat hike with my kids. Easy with a great view.D Verrier7 months ago3 Completed1 ReviewsQuick hike if you only have a few hours. Easy to moderate hike requiring good footwear. Good for kids. Many ledges on top for different views. In the far distance you can see Mt Washington on a clear day. Foliage starting to turn. Will have very nice views once leaves have all turned.Stacey Mitchell8 months ago21 Completed20 ReviewsShort easy hike for the whole family with fantastic views at the top.Maureen terenzi8 months ago12 Completed2 ReviewsIt was a nice morning hike with the dogs about 2.4 miles round trip & well markedKaitlyn Merrill9 months ago15 Completed8 ReviewsAwesome ride up hurricane mountain road to the trail. beautiful view up top. easy trail to follow, plus there are numerous other labeled trails as well. we saw a BABY BLACKBEAR on the way back.
