This is an awesome hike even for those who may have put on an extra pound or two over the winter months. Watch out on the top though for falcons protecting their young. One tried coming after us and we jumped towards the wooded area, not over the "Dance Floor" cliff!

One of my favorite hikes. Local with a nice look over the Scoharie Valley. One of the quicker hikes, but can be challenging as it is a pretty vertical hike.

I found this a little strenuous in certain areas. Would not advise family's with young children. Steep in areas and with young boys at the top wanting to get as close as they can to the edge makes there mother go crazy. Great views of the valley and we did the loop.

A nice local place to go hiking and geocaching! Love going on the difficult trail and then taking the easy one down! Enjoy the views!

It is a nice hike - short, but steep enough to get your heart rate up, with picturesque views at the top. If the crowd is bothering you, pass by the dance floor (though the inscriptions are kinda interesting) and stop to enjoy some breathing room at one of the smaller overlooks a little further on. It is in fact a loop, though some people were walking it as a there and back - it's a fun scramble down the far side!

Steady uphill hike most of the way. Had to stop and catch my breath a handful of times. Excellent views at the top. Pretty crowded

Not too challenging, and the views are mainly of farms and a few houses. The peaks are too far and the view too narrow. Beautiful area, though. I found the drive more entertaining than the hike.

We took the kids and dog and it was a nice quick hike with big rewards. The trail is very well maintained, and the directionality of the loop helps to minimize the impact of the high traffic volume. There were about 15 cars at the trailhead, but it was a warm, sunny Sunday. The top of the mountain is a nice spot for a picnic lunch, but definitely a place to keep dogs and toddlers on a "leash" -- it has a scary drop off. If you are a bird watcher, bring your binoculars as there is a peregrine nest on the cliff face and we were treated to some great views of one riding the thermals and diving.
