Even though we went on Monday morning, it was super crowded. The view was nice, but we didn't enjoy it because of amount of people and "noisy" children. The trail is super easy and takes maybe 30 minutes out and back.

A short, crowded walk up to it. Unfortunately it was very foggy the day I went, but I know from other people that the views are amazing on a clear day.

A great view from the observation deck. A wide concrete path leads up to it. Very busy.

The trail is paved, but that doesn't mean it's easy. If you're in shape, you shouldn't have a problem getting to the dome in 10-15 min. But if you're not, you're gonna huff & puff all the way to the top like I did. lol There are several benches along the way if you need a break, & you can enjoy the scenery or take pictures to give your legs a break. Once you get to the top, it's worth the hike. The view is spectacular, especially at sunset. That's when I went. It wasn't that crowded & I got to see 5 bear while I was coming in & leaving along the road.

Beautiful views from the parking lot, until we got to the top- we were inside a cloud and couldn't see much of anything! It was also a 2 hour wait because of traffic trying to find a parking place!

Steep and short. This trail can also draw quite a crowd but It works well for high pointers and it connects to several other trails you can hike in the area.

Really interesting walk, as you walk up the hill to the dome you could feel the temperature dropping. At one on the way down it began to rain and after a short while we walked out of the rain. It was kind of disappointing that it was too foggy to see anything but feeling the clouds hit your face was pretty neat. It wasn't too difficult except that it goes straight up and straight back down.

Clingman's Dome is a short but moderate hike. While the trail is paved it is also fairly steep. Benches are placed along the trail for your convenience. Between the 2 & 4 tenths markers is the steepest at around 9% grade. Once the top is reached all that is forgotten. The views are amazing! This is a great hike for any hiker. Be sure to take a camera.

Paved 0.5 mile path, but don't let that fool you. It's a Hike! It's just straight up the entire time with benches each tenth of a mile. Fifteen minutes to the top of a tower with views for literally dozens of miles in every direction. Cool little hike with bathrooms and a gift shop at the bottom!
