A meandering trail along the West side of the Willamette with a canopy of trees.

Flat level trail which tends to be muddy when it rains some up grades but not much. Skirting the Old Oregon Golf course along the banks of the Willamette river with lots of trees to shade the trail. You can see the bird nest on top of the R/R bridge near hole nine of the golf course. High walls of blackberry bushes keep you on the trail.

Three miles West of exit 233 off interstate-5 on HWY 20 is Takena Park. From exit 233 take the Santiam HWY/Hwy 20 West through the town of Albany the HWY turns into Pacific BLV heading South until you come to the top of an overpass where you will want to exit heading West on Lyons St. over the bridge that spans the Willamette river. Go through the first intersection at the foot of the bridge and continue to the second intersection where you will turn left into the parks parking lot.
