The trail enters the Teton range thru Cascade Canyon, a very popular trail. After taking the South Fork of the Cascade Canyon trail, the canyon opens up. Upon reaching the pass you'll see Schoolhouse Glacier and it's turquoise lake. You also have a FANTASTIC west view of the 3 Tetons.

Most people leave from the Jenny Lake Trailhead, but you can also leave from the String Lake parking area. This trail is MUCH less populated. (Jenny Lake is a heavily visited area.)
