An easy 20 minute walk to the scenic cliffs is the Burnt Head Trail. A more exciting 30-miute trail is the White Head or the Black Head Trail to get to the highest cliffs (180 ft) on the Maine Coast. My favorite is the WhiteHead Trail which passes beside the Lighthouse. Be ready for walking up the hill. To get a real hike, follow the trail along the cliffs all the way to Lobster Cove and then back to the village. This takes about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, especially if you stop to enjoy the beauty along the way which I did. I looked for whales, but did not see any this time. The ice cream in the village tasted mighty good. Can't wait to do it again this year.
