Lovely trail! A little hard to follow the trail signs. Lots of options for adding distance to your hike with additional side trails.

We extended our hike to 6.13 mikes by doing the gold mine spur then the gold mine loop, then doubling back to take the woodland trail to the Anglers Spur and finishing up b takingbthevtowpath back to lock 20. Very nice hike. Itvwas a new best for me during my trainibg forva solo thruhike of the C&O. New pack and 28.5 lbs.

Great hike minutes from DC! Go early because there are a lot of people but it's very adventurous. Steep rock faces, gaps to jump. Awesome scenery and views of the Potomac make this hike a must do! Gets very hot at mid day with limited shade so bring water!

This is an amazing hike!! It was my first hike with rock scrambles. It worked almost every muscle in my body. I woke up sore but absolutely loved the hike. There were great views..and was a wonderful workout. It was pretty crowded..but everyone was very nice. I loved this hike and will definitely do it again!!

I hiked the trail twice back in Cub Scouts. The first time I hiked it I was about 10 years old, so it's alright for young children. It does require some physical ability, however.
