Good trail system. Roller coaster at times and flat and flowy other times. Looks like they take care of it pretty well. The fire road was rutty. But overall a good trail.

I brought my bike from OK on a road trip and found this gem. I'll be back here. As well as Rocky Knob in Boone.

Awesome, fun trail. Rugged and fast. This trail has everything for all skill levels; climbs, hills, jumps, free ride... A lot of places for you to go fast but rugged enough to get a good workout. Best point of access is the Lake Jeanette Marina. I really enjoyed this ride.

This trail isn't 9 miles. More in the 5.5-6 range.

three section to this trail
from old battleground trailhead to A&Y greenway is pretty flat. From greenway next 1.5-2.5 miles is pretty hilly with lots of up & down. last 0.75 mi to lake brandt marina is less vigorous again.

restrooms, other facilities at marina

note map shows trailhead off cotswald which is in a wrong place...you can get to A&Y greenway near there and take greenway to middle of trail, but real trailheads are on Old Battleground and at Lake Brandt Marina

Varied topography. Much of west end is pretty flat, with a few 30-50 ft climbs in middle third. East end between Plainfield road and Church street has a couple of really steep 'ravines'--these are really tough for a beginner (me!)

3.75 mi each way out and back total 7.3

This trail has an almost roller coaster like feel to it and there's always new challenges some parts have long difficult uphills and others are curvy downhills the over all trail is not extremely difficult but you do have to pay attention to what your doing because of the trails lack of upkeep the people who ride it take great care of it but in some places you may have to get of your bike and crawl under fallen trees or go around rocks but overall one of the most fun trails I've ever done

We like that Country Park is right down the street from our home off of Pisgah Church Rd. or can access through Natural Science Center rear parking lot off of Lawndale Ave. It is an easy speed walking opportunity. A lot of people believe that it is primarily for bike riders, but they are to yield right of way to walkers/runners. I'm still courteous and accommodating due to my increased flexibility having on shoes as opposed to a lot of theirs being strapped into their pedals.

Nat Greene Trail-Kids at school and husband not needed at work til later, so left early around 8:30am for the Old Battleground gravel parking lot. Arrived and only one other vehicle there and the lady and her dog were running back as we were entering before the long wooden walking ramp. We were prepared and brought a backpack, with ziplocs(saved my hubbie's Droid phone on the trip), toilet paper in a ziploc (for wiping my glasses clean after being deluged by torrential rains), snacks and travel ponchos. Went all the way to the marina, cleaned up a bit and started to enter back into the trail and my ankle was hurting so we decided to walk on Lake Brandt Rd, south to Old Battleground Rd back to our Jeep. Didn't realize their was a tornado warning going on during our trip and the marina's gate was locked, but if you want along the fence to the right it ends quickly and you can walk on the road. We had the best time even through it all!
