Loved this trail! Got lost a couple of times because trail wasn't marked a couple of places near the dam so actually went 8.2 miles but great hiking business!

Great Hiking for the family. Both long and short trails. Also not a bad 1/2 day trip.

Great trail, walked the 6.8 Mile Chinquapin Trail around the lake with a friend. Texas park costs $5 per adult to get in, but worth it. For Houston area, this is a very hilly trail with lots of sandy ups and downs, tree roots and mountain-bikers. Walked in November so I didn't see any snakes or alligators, but they are in the park. Lots of shade and full tree cover, the trail has some narrow areas and lots of bends, so be aware for the bikers..

This was basically a spider symposium with no elevation change and bugs engaging in aerial coitus everywhere.
The coolest part was a silk worm-infested tree.
