Really nice, easy walk. Great for kids. Lots of space to walk with groups, walking along the water for a large part of it. Off-road stroller friendly.

Lees Woods Trail is a nice hike in the Leesylvania VA State Park. There are many historic marker for Gen. R.E. Lee's Boyhood home. The path has a few steep grades but over very nice.

Not being from the area, the trail head was a bit challenging to find as we arrived from across the Potomac via zodiac tender. Luckily a park ranger directed us to the location at the North end of the upper parking lot. This is a great trail hike, full of history with good interpretive information along the way. We highly recommend this easy hike. Learn about Robert E. Lee's father's homestead. Good views of the Potomac.

I walked the Bushey Point/Powell's Creek, starting from the Bushey Point trailhead and looping the Powell's Creek trail. Total distance of the two is about 3 miles. The trails are well maintained, easy to walk, and well marked. I had my two dogs with me on a sunny Saturday morning. There were a few other folks (runners and dog walkers) on the trail. NOTE: The trail is in Leesylvania State Park and access to the park is $5.00 per day or you can purchase a year long pass for $36.00.

Hiked in late December 2010. Nice, easy hike along the Potomac and nearby forest. Lots of waterfowl and bald eagles. Nobody else around. You can get 7 miles out of this if you do all the trails, which requires some repetition.

I love this hike. Close to home for me and a lot of history. I like the ruins, the cemetery, and especially the water.
