This trail starts near the group camping parking lot at the end of the Loggiecroft road. The trail runs alongside the group campground for a while and then follows the meanders of the Rankin Brook.
At the end of the Black River peninsula the view is outstanding. It is an interesting trail with stands of various tree species enhancing the scenery along the way. The trail runs along the shore in a few locations, offering a view of the estuary.

This is a nice trail for accessing some beautiful nature. There is a tower to climb at the beginning that gives you a nice view of the area. The trail is mostly gentle, but there is limited shade, so make sure to be prepared with sun protection. Since this area is mostly a bog, it can easily get very hot on sunny summer days.
