Best trails in Terra Nova National Park
Terra Nova National Park is located on the Atlantic Coast in Newfoundland and is the most Easterly National Park of Canada. It was established in 1957. Its landscape is made of sea, beaches, headlands, mountains, and forests. It is home to varied wildlife including whales, black bears, caribous and moose. It is a great place to backpack, hike, kayak, and canoe.

- (469)•Easy•2.8 mi•Est. 1–1.5 hrThis is quite a popular trail in Terra Nova. It starts at the Visitor's Centre and ends at Newman Sound Day Use Area. The trail is fairly flat as it follows along the coastline. There are several areas from where the beach can be accessed. Another entrance point for the trail is Headquarters Wharf, about halfway through the trail.

This would be a great family outing for people of various fitness levels, as well as for dogs. Signage is sparse, so having a map available would be handy. During the spring and fall seasons, the trail can get quite muddy, so proper footwear is recommended.

It is a nice entrance through the woods and then a walk through the rocks that gently leads you up the hill and some stairs to get you to the top. This would be best completed in the late summer when there are fewer bugs, or early fall when the seasons change and the colours are majestic. Offline map is recommended. Users have reported that the trails are not marked well.

Not much to see along the way but the lookout is spectacular, and there are some great campgrounds available. The elevation is fairly well spread throughout, making it a steady route. Very enjoyable with stunning views at the end!
