Best trails in Riisitunturi National Park
Riisitunturi National Park is located in Southern Lapland, near Posio. In the park, you can admire the typhoon forest and the largest spring in Europe. In addition to stunning views and landscapes, the park has a diverse fauna. There are bears and lynxes, Siberian jays and Eurasian three-toed woodpeckers, as well as northern hawk-owls.
The park has five lean-to shelters, two wilderness huts, and a day-use hut. Camping is allowed in the immediate vicinity of the lean-to shelters and huts. The Oulanka Nature Center has information about the park and its trails.
The nearest railway station is in Kemijärvi, about 130 km from the park. There are no bus lines to the park.
