Best trails in Southern Konnevesi National Park
South Konnevesi National Park is located on the border of North Savo and Central Finland, near Rautalampi. The park consists of vast lakes and labyrinthine archipelagos. South Konnevesi has the densest osprey population in Finland, and old natural forests full of huge aspen trees.
The park has three half-huts, two lean-to shelters, and a cooking shelter. Overnight camping is allowed under everyone's rights, and pitching tents is recommended in the vicinity of the rest areas. There are also municipally maintained lean-to shelters, campfire sites, and landing sites in the vicinity of the park.
The nearest train station is in Suonenjoki, 30 km from the park. The closest bus stop is on Road 69, 7 km from the park. You can also reach the park by water, either by your own boat or by a cruise vessel operated by a partner company.
