Best trails in Yatsugatake Chushin Kogen Quasi-National Park
Yatsugatake Chushin Kogen Quasi-National Park, which straddles Nagano and Yamanashi prefectures, was designated as a quasi-national park in 1964. Various famous and scenic spots are located here, including Mt. Yatsugatake, Mt. Akadake, the highest peak in the Yatsugatake mountain range, and the Kiyosato area. Utsukushigahara offers spectacular views of the majestic Northern Alps, Okuchichibu mountains, and Mt. Fuji, and the park also has lakes and ponds where you can enjoy water activities.
There is a vast farmland at the foot of Mt. Yatsugatake that produces fresh milk and a variety of fresh foods such as cabbage and lettuce. If you are primarily looking for a mountain climbing course, be sure to visit Kirigamine, which is known as a lava plateau. Tateshina is also known as a historic hot spring area, so please soak in various types of hot springs and soothe your tired body.
