Best trails in Saikai National Park
Designated in northwest Kyushu in 1955, Saikai National Park is characterized by its magnificent archipelago scenery made up of over 400 islands, including Sasebo's Kuju Island, Ikitsuki and Hirado Islands, and the Goto Islands.
The park is home to many rare species and its vast biodiversity is supported by its spectacular and complex landscapes, stunning marine scenery and unique ecosystems, which attract many visitors.
The area is also known for the spectacular autumn migration of honey buzzards and red-breasted buntings, as well as rare marine life such as horseshoe crabs.
A wide range of leisure activities are available, including beautiful beaches, sightseeing boats and kayaks in Shikanomae, scuba diving in Fukue Marine Park, and finally, Mount Shijiki and Mount Nanatsudake await hikers.
