Best trails in Skuleskogen National Park
Skuleskogen National Park, located in both Örnsköldsvik and Kramfors municipalities, is part of the High Coast World Heritage Site. The park offers 30 square kilometers of roadless wilderness with breathtaking mountains, valleys and the steepest coastline of the Baltic Sea. It is a year-round destination with marked trails and overnight cabins, suitable for both short excursions and multi-day hikes.
Skuleskogen National Park is home to various woodpecker species that thrive in spruce and old pine trees, as well as other birds such as capercaillie, dormouse and great crested newt. Northern dragonflies, forest warblers and blackbirds nest in the deciduous valleys. The park provides a habitat for undisturbed animal movement, with tracks of species such as lynx, mountain hare and moose visible in the snow during the winter.
