Mae Yom National Park is located in the coverage area of Ngao District, Lampang Province and Song District, Phrae Province. It covers an area of approximately 284,218.75 rai or 454.75 square kilometers. The park is characterized by high mountains on both the east and west sides, sloping down to the Yom River that flows through the middle of the area. There are mountains such as Doi Luang, Doi Yao, Doi Khun Huai Pae, and Doi Ton, which are the origin of rivers and creeks such as Mae Pung, Mae Lam, Mae Ten, Mae Sakun, Mae Pao, Huai Pha Lat, Huai Mae Pong, Huai Mae Phung, Huai Mae Paeng, Huai Ket, Huai Pui, Huai Loem, and Huai Mae Pu. The park also has the Mae Ngao River flowing confluence with the Yom River at the park, from the north side to the south. The area is flat and sloping, with an altitude of about 180 meters above sea level.
