Take a short stroll out to a lookout point and then down to a gorgeous waterfall near Kanangra in New South Wales. It's a breathtaking area, but bear in mind that the tracks can be overgrown and the roads rough.
The trailhead can only be reached via a bumpy dirt road, so it's best to use a 4WD. The walk itself is delightful and picturesque, particularly the stunning views from Karangara Walls Lookout. On the way back, prepare for a heart-pumping climb up all the stairs from the waterfall....

Prepare yourself for what is widely considered the most difficult and strenuous section of the entire 45km Six Foot Track. This part of the journey is a relentless and very steep uphill climb from the Coxs River, up to the Mini Mini Saddle and then onto the Black Range. Reaching the campsite is a huge achievement and offers a true sense of accomplishment. You are walking a historic 1884 bridle path through the traditional lands of the Gundungurra people.

A superb route commencing from Kanangra Walls Road and visiting Kanang Falls, Kanangra Falls Lookout, Brennan Top Plateau, and Cottage Rock.
The hike remains relatively flat beside the one dip down to Cottage Rock followed by a climb back out. The section of walking near Cottage Rock is a bit overgrown due to not many people venturing there and can get a little muddy after rains so bring a decent pair of shoes and hiking poles if required. There is a surplus of epic scenery on this route so...

This is a fantastic walk out to a truly spectacular waterfall. The falls are created by a sharp decline in the landscape where Morong Creek delves down in to the valley below and meets with the Kowmung River.
This is a great walk but should be done after some rain has fallen as water flows quickly in this area and although the view is spectacular alone it would be disappointing not to see the waterfall in all it's glory.

This is a relatively short walk along the Kanangra Falls Canyon Access Track that snakes its way along the edge of the canyon top.
The trail is mostly through tall eucalypt with obvious fire scaring it gives beautiful views of the Kanangra Canyon at times as well as the Kanangra Falls and the track is a lot quieter than the Kalang Falls and Kanangra Walls Tracks.
Make sure to do this route after a bit of rain to ensure the waterfall is flowing.
