The first half is through the bush on a reasonably clear trail. The second half is back over the sand and rocks. It is a pretty loop and not overly complex.
Some of the rock scrambling takes some planning, but is very doable.
At high tide or during large swell, some parts of the rocks will be impassable and you will need to backtrack and go inland. After big rains it is likely that the lakes will have breached to the beach so be prepared for wet feet.
