Trail reviews for Murramarang National Park
This was a tough trail - especially as we had rain about 90% of the time. But, it was beautiful. The rain gave it this ethereal quality walking through the trees and while it was wet, it made getting dry even more rewarding! Expect lots of roos and wallabies and bird life. The scenery is stunning and terrain is fairly manageable - I would recommend hiking poles especially if wet. Our hot tip is to stop at the NRMA Murramarang Resort for a feed and to water load / fill up before heading onto the next part. NSW parks recommends carrying 5L from the resort to the end (per person). We carried probably 7L between us and it was enough. I’d recommend drinking the free (clean) tap water from the resort and water loading before heading off! A really beautiful walk and finally glad to have done it!
The Murramarang Coastal walk is an excellent track and suitable for someone with limited long distance walking experience. Carry water and snacks and enjoy great views and forest lands
Not a great view. The trail was well maintained, challengingly steep, and there was a decent view to the west at one point. But the summit was not a great view due to trees. For us, it wasn’t worth the detour off the murramarang coast walk.
Trail actually starts out with 1 pm on beach before you can take the Murramarang coast walk around some rocky headlands. It does go back to the beach for stretches too. Only went half way to Snake bay. Upland trail has good stairs and some raised grid sections
Walked Pebbly Beach to North Durras Beach in Murramarang NP , along coastal platforms, beaches and hiking trails. Did the Depot Beach Rainforest walk on way through. Unable to walk the platforms from Depot to North Durras beaches although low tied income swell was very high at time of walking so detoured over Burrawang Walking Track. A great walk with great scenery.
Nice return walk in Murramarang NP from Maloneys Beach to North Head , walking on a combination of beaches and track which were well defined and sign posted. Beautiful scenery very enjoyable and easy walking
