Best trails in Springbrook National Park
Springbrook National Park is located on the McPherson Range, in the Gold Coast (Kurrungul) hinterland of Queensland. The park is a wedge of remnant Gondwana rainforest in Australia, which has this park listed and UNESCO protected as a Gondwana Rainforest of Australia World Heritage area. Its volcanic history has formed unique geological sites and features rich biodiverse subtropical and cool temperate rainforest with rare native fauna and flora endemic to the region, including threatened species. The park is on the land of the Yugambeh people, who lived in the Mount Cougal and Springbrook Valley regions for thousands of years and used Mount Cougal as a meeting place between mobs.

Trail reviews for Springbrook National Park
One of the most picturesque waterfall in Springbrook National Park. The day we visited was so crowded so parking was a bit challenging. Great view from top and bottom of the falls. More parking available if started from a different trail head just down the road.
A beautiful trail. Was typical rainforest conditions on the day we went with light to heavy rain on and off - pack a waterproof! The trail is pretty straightforward and well signposted. If you're unfit and not good at climbs go "right" at the entrance (springbrook national park canyon lookout on Google maps was where we started) so that you walk down a steep stepped incline rather than up. The views and various waterfalls are stunning. Bring your swimmers if you fancy a dip. It truly is beautiful. Only downside was at one point a tree had fallen on the track completely blocking the path. We just went around through the bush - was a little sketchy. Additionally be careful when navigating that you don't end up down one of the longer routes available.
As the saying goes *Hell hath no fury......* Well, the after effects of Cyclone Alfred were on full display throughout the afternoon as I hopped from spot to spot in the magnificent Springbrook National Park... Trees hundreds of years old, totally uprooted, branches and bushes strewn everywhere - it's one of the first times in my life being directly in the midst of a natural disaster, and witnessing it's full impact afterwards. Luckily, people had enough time and resources to protect themselves, but nature itself? Didn't..... The one positive from the Cyclone's? The outrageously high levels of rain resulted in the dams filling to capacity, but even more spectacular? The considerable rise in the volume of water crashing down from the waterfalls, an absolute sight to behold!
Super fun trail! I’d recommend it if you’re looking for a trail in the Springbrook area. Lots of waterfalls and lookout spots. Bring your bathing suit to take a cold dip at the bottom of the twin falls too! One of my favourites
1 week after a 300mm dumping of rain at Springbrook, waterfalls were all flowing immensely, slightly undercrowded due to a late start
Lovely introductory walk through Springbrook. We were a group of 10 women over 50, and found it fairly easy. Gorgeous views, amazing waterfall and vegetation. Highly recommend. 3 hours with a 30minute lunch stop.
